The tree of life - this symbol served as a model for the design of this 2-flamed floor standing candle holder. Its plane leaf-relief and the artistically embellished candle shaft make the item appear like a sculpture. On the one hand side this holder has been carefully developed - this shows even the details of the panicles, which pervade the object like rising life-lines. On the other hand this candle holder is the symbol of asymmetry - this only being adjusted by an adumbration.
This high, square-edged holder is the only floor standing candle holder from the floral series of the Harjes leaf candle sticks. Showing a tendency towards the sculptural, it is probably the last large piece that the artist Michael Harjes (+ 2006) created.
