Harjes´ largest „bowl with handles“ has all qualities that make for a good solitaire; the perfect form as an open terrine, the smoothly polished surface and the bell bronze which is rather seldom used as material make it a real eye-catcher. The design’s masterpiece may probably be found in the early beginnings of the Harjes family business - when bowls and dishes were still driven with a hammer and by hand. This also shows in the typical form of the handles which consistently continue the piece’s elegance with a slight verve. The sand cast bell bronze brings us back to a lively grainy surface structure. Polished or with a matt finish reflection it shows the typical Harjes workpiece handwriting.
